Theatres December 17

TRON: Legacy, scheduled to have its official release in theatres the 17th of December, is one of the much anticipated 3D high-tech adventure everyone is waiting for.  In previous years people would sing about their longing for a White Christmas. It will be different this time around, as everyone is all set for Digital Christmas unlike anything other they’d have experienced – on the big silver screen.

TRON: Legacy, which had its 10-week countdown kicked off on October 10, is digitally 3-D enhanced movie that depicts the live of a rebellious 27-year-old Sam Flynn, haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn, a man previously known as the world’s leading video-game developer.

Every week for the next 10 weeks, a major milestone in the countdown will be realised as The Walt Disney Company rolls out some exciting new TRON events, film content, products and announcements in preparation for the worldwide film launch.

However, when Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn’s Arcade, he got dragged into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years.

Since its October 10 kick-off, special screening of never-before-seen 3D footage has been shown in select IMAX 3D theaters across the nation and 3D & IMAX 3D theaters worldwide.

With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra, father and son set out on a life-and-death journey throughout a picturesquely created universe populated with some fantastic-looking futuristic vehicles, weapons, landscapes, and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

Presented in Disney Digital 3D™ and scored by Grammy Award-winning electronic music duo Daft Punk, “TRON: Legacy” hits U.S. theaters on Dec. 17, 2010, in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX 3D.

The Disney site, http://disney.go.com/tron, gives audiences the opportunity to step onto the Grid and into the cutting-edge, high-tech movie, where visitors can experience an exciting 20-plus-minute sneak preview of the highly anticipated film, sponsored by Asus Computer International.
